Hey RAB Homedawg! Welcome to Immeritus! Glad to see you here. Just a hint, if you realize you've made a mistake, or want to change something, you can do so by using the edit button on the upper right hand corner of your post.

A lot of the members will use the format

To make sure that people realize that they edited. We try and avoid double posts if at all possible so that we keep the length of the threads down. Otherwise it all gets to be too long for others to read - and we do encourage people to read the entire thread before answering to avoid repeating things.

Since your new (and not because you have broken any rules), I'll point you to a few threads you might want to read if you haven't already:

I think it's a quality of being friends and not being jealous.
In a real friendship, it's not how good you are at school or other activities...
no, it's about who you are and how you react at the human on the other end of the friendship.

I mean, look at yourself, do you shout at a friend because he's good at school, or volleyball or basketball...drifting away, srr

anyway, in friendship, it's about you, not about results

I think the marauders liked each other and wormtail was an admirer of something:

In OOTP, snape's worst memory, you can see james, who stole a snitch and does some really difficult catches... pettigrew being very exited and all, but only sirius can stop james from doing that, because they respect each other

that's how I think of friendship;)

Alrite ima elaborate on the map part in this forum. A few questions to ask - why make a map, why did Fred and George get it, why not Sirius, Remus, or Peter??? whats wrong with this?!!?!?

well first off, Why did the four make a map? was it all for Serverus to plot against him, or was it simply to know where they were going. all of this ties together with the four we have now... Hermione, Harry, Ron, and Draco. the three friends despise him and ?plot against him? The maurauders probably made a map to get into and out of school secretly. Maybe to even anger Mr Filch? making a mess everywhere just being normal teenagers i guess... but then again the teachers new they were i guess to say a mischieveous bunch... was the map to see if anyone was coming?

this leads me to my next question - why did Sirius, Remus, or Peter get it? well ill answer first and then elaborate Sirius was captured and was probably stripped of everything he possesed at that time, maybe even the map and his wand. Would they have give the parchment back to school as a piece of paper? or to confiscate it in Mr. Filch's office. why not peter? well he turned into a mouse... you mite think mice dont wear clothes.. but in the Prisoner of Azkaban when they turn him back into a human he is wearing clothes??? weird eh? then when they are at the womping willow he again turns into an animagus and leaves his clothes behind? and im like woah... this does not make sense. Then i relized well then he would surely have given the map(if he had it) to Tom Riddle rite? so that he could have sent maybe... Lucious(forgive my spelling) Malfoy to get harry potter and bring him to Lord Voldemort to ?kill him? Then thers Remus why couldnt he have the map... remember that he was an outcast until James invited him into the group, Did they not trust him enough after they saw him transform... After all Werewolves were on the darkside, did they think he could not handle himself and hand it over the leader(name?? dunt wanna look it up- grayback?)

Then why did Fred and George get it? was it simply that they too were like James and Sirius always fooling around and pulling pranks on people? Was it fate or just JK Rowling??

well continue or reply .... if u want...

Hey kaiser

Thanks for your post! We appreciate the thought and effort that went into it. As you will have noticed from your welcome PM, we pretty much frown on the use of net slang because not everyone understands it. Us older folk and some of those from other countries can really have a hard time understanding it. We also appreciate the use of proper grammer, punctuation and capitalization for basically the same reasons. Posts can be very difficult to read if the grammer and punctuation are incorrect, again, especially for people with other native languages. Poor use of grammar and punctuation can lead to your posts being ignored by others. So for your own sake, and for the sake of others, please read and try and stick to the rules.

Thanks!

Living in a dorm with 3 other guys, maybe there were more. can create close relationships.

Sirius and James might've met become best mates, and then slowly they wondered why Remus left once a month, and they might've pityed Peter.

And with the wondering caused them to make a relationship with Remus sometime in 2nd year and Peter might've been just. I dunno.

I'm a bit harsh towards him so I won't speak of him.

I think it was a mutual love for everything naughty. I can see Sirius and James being best friends right from the first day (a fact that is confirmed in the last book). Then Remus probably helped them with their homework and stuff so they became best friends. I think with wormtail (I refuse to call him Peter) its hard to say why they became friends. I think he just hung around them so much that he became a fixture with their group. And slowly became a core member. He was their biggest fan (something I think James liked a lot) and he went along with everything they did. The fact that Remus was a werewolf only made them closer. Now they had this secret they shared only amongst one another. I bet they spent a lot of time together in becoming animagi. All of this made them inseparable and in my opinion totally sexy.

Based upon what was covered in The Deathly Hallows in flashbacks, we can safely say for sure that Sirius and James both got along from the moment they met on the Hogwarts Express.

James and Sirius both clearly expressed a dislike of Slytherin House, (when Sirius mentions the fact that every member of his family has been a member of that particular house) and of Snape.

I think it was their shared psychological traits (loyalty, bravery, a love of mischief, intelligence, and confidence) and also their shared interests that brought them together, just like any friends.

I think Remus came into the mix because Sirius and James both appreciated intellect, and Remus, while enjoying the popularity that being mates with James and Sirius bought and also not really stopping them when they got carried away with "Snivellus", was also not easily swayed. I think anyone can admire that quality in a person.

Peter on the other hand, seems to be another story. I have always wondered why a person who had the capacity to betray his friends and behave in such a cowardly manner was accepted into the house of Gryffindor, for surely the Sorting Hat can see into the hearts and minds of students? His reason for inclusion in the group seems to be to inflate egos, and his reason for wanting to be there in the first place shows how he likes to rub shoulders with the powerful, the elite, a premonition of future events if you will. Kind of reminds me of a young Slughorn in that way. Maybe I'm being too harsh on the young Pettigrew, but from what we know of him from the books, he doesnt sound like the sort of bloke I would have liked to know myself.

I know that this might not be what your talking about, but I always think that Sirius was very "girlish". I mean, I would expect him to have a moodswing once a mounth(girls period), to sometimes wear his hear up in a bun(to stand out) and just act more girlish than boyis. I might make a fanfic where James turns Sirius into a girl

I tend to read too much into stuff, but I'm thinking that, possibly, it could have been the fact that they all had terrible past experiences that bonded the Mauraders.

We know Remus is a werewolf, and that Sirius had an (at best) emotionally abusive family. It's a bit of a stretch, but maybe James had a little sister who drowned when they went to visit the beach, or Peter could possibly have parents who just don't care. Maybe it was the fact that they could all understand each others' pain that bonded them. Just a possibility.
