It is my understanding that I'm not the only one who can't do this, so it might be an all around problem. I can't paste anything into chat. When I right click, I'm presented with a popup menu and there is a 'paste' option, but it doesn't work. I can't even apple + v to paste either.

It is a security measure of some sort. I can't do it on my mac either, but can on my pc at home. The only copy/pasting that you are supposed to be able to do, tara, is within the application itself, which is useless for urls. It has driven me crazy as well.

Naw, just kidding...anyway, I just wanted to say I like the new chat for the most part. It takes a while to get logged into it, though, even with DSL, but I still really like it. I like the 'away' hourglass feature, too.

Also, we were talking last night, and is it true that no one can click on links in chat to go directly to the link? Or is this just me...

The links work for me but I know others (I think Meggy) has the same problem but that was the same in old chat too.

I really like the new chat, I too love the away feature, its really handy. I love how we can see people typing too! Its so cool. I like the new sounds, *laughs* is priceless and *lol* is kinda scary but great at the same time.

It does take longer to load but not that much longer so overall I am really liking the new chat. Thanks for bringing it in.

I love the new chat as well! It's great!! At one stage, I was the only member online so I decided to chat to myself. I was warned that everyone said in chat was recorded, so I had fun saying all sorts of ridiculous stuff. But.
here's my problem. There was a night when me and Tink went on at the same time and over msn I told her to go onto Immy chat. She did.. and I did too. Somehow she was in the old chat room and I was in the betachat room. I have no idea how that happened! In the end I got into the old chat room with her and we (well, I) had a good time showing her all the great sound effects. Just found it a little strange that tink got into the old chat room instead of the beta chat room?

I may be wrong but maybe Tink clicked 'chat' under the Site Features. Which leads you to the old chatroom, you have to click BetaChat to bring you to the new one.

I may be wrong though but it happened to me before. (well I can't get in to old chatrooom but you know.. )

Help Beta Chat is gone.

I could never access Beta Chat from the menu on the left so I was used to enter the room via the chat box on the right of the screen.

I'm running Windows XP Professional 2002 with Service Pack 2

Both in my IE explorer (6.0) and my Firefox (1.5.0.7) both with Java 1.5
I experience the same problem.

When I use the menu on the left it tells me that

"This chat room may not be accessed from this web site"

Is chat still available? or is it my computer?

Or am I banned for ignoring chat for at least two weeks?

Beta has gone full on. The normal chat has upgraded to what Beta used to be. If you are having trouble logging in make sure you remove the "www" in your browser and refresh the page. That should let you in.

I am having an impossible time getting in today from my Mac at work, and it could be temporary or not, I dunno. They just upgraded today, and so many things are going wrong.

If you are having trouble with it, make sure to check that you have the latest Java installed. Then if you still have problems, post here. Good luck!

Well, it loaded okay for me...except it asked me for a pass word and had me in some place called 'staff lounge' or something like that...

So I didn't get in.

The box on the right of my screen was back and I could get straight in and even the menu on the left worked fine. I must have tried to get in while they were updating because everything works fine again.

I fixed the room issue. I got on fine from home on a PC. Macs may be a whole other issue right now. And that does not make me happy.

Wanted to report that I *just* tested chat on my Mac and it appears to be working fine for me (maybe it's already been resolved?).

I'm using the new version of Firefox that was just released (2.0) and I've got OSX (10.4.8 ).

Alright, I'm getting my chat problem over here.

I've downloaded the lastes vertion of Java, that was why I couldnt get in before *dork* Now the blue 'Loading' bar appears and stays there. I was there at lelast 15 mins before trying again sevaral times, but it'll not do.

That sounds like it could have been a server issue. Try it again at some other point, and if it STILL doesn't load, then you may have to troubleshoot it.
