And a BIG HAPPY SIXTH Birthday to Immeritus!!! *cheering fans go wild*
Now, YOU being one of those cheering fans, stop and think how many other cheering fans around here are your FRIENDS! Online, in real life, everywhere! I got to meet (albeit way too briefly) Pen and Moon this summer! So.... I'm going to make a scrapbook layout about that meeting - for crying out loud, we even met up at a CASTLE, how cool is that!?
Have you met any Immy friends and had your photos taken together? Scrap it! Did you take pictures at a midnight book party? Scrap it! Did you dress up as a Potterite for Halloween!? Scrap it!
For this challenge, you are welcome to use any scrapbooking supplies you want. If you paper scrap, go for it! Take a photo of your final page or scan it in, whatever works best for you, so we can see it.
If you scrap digitally, or want to learn, and have Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, or Digital Image Pro, or Photoshop Elements, or any other program that lets you work with layers, I have a little treat to help you along in this challenge. But it doesn't matter if you use them or not, it's completely optional!
A tutorial for getting started on digiscrapping is
here.
I do need to mention that elsewhere I
sell my designs, so please please please, honor my terms of use and do NOT share the downloads with anyone else. If anyone asks you for them, direct them to me or these links. I am always glad to share with my fellow scrapping Immeritans. I work for Digitalscrapbookplace.com and my username on there is Elisabeth. All these images are copyright me, and there are other designers at DSP who have done other beautiful scrapbook digital kits, and several of them are magical in nature. I just don't have the rights to share theirs here, but if you want, I can direct you - they are inexpensive and beautiful.
Okay, so, here are your choices - use one, all, or none. Make your own if you are so inclined. The point is to have fun! If you paper scrap you may be able to print parts of these to use also.
Click the text links above each image to download; they are free. A box will pop up giving you the download option, say okay. You will have to unzip them once they are on your hard drive. Then you can open them in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, etc. You can download trial versions of those programs online too.
07/16/07 CHALLENGE OVER Edited out the copyrighted links; leaving this one in as it's free all the time:
I have one more I want to share with you but I don't own the whole thing, and I don't have my own bits uploaded separately. You'll want this, really you will, it's got all the different house stuff and a butterbeer bottle, etc. Quidditch rings, a dragon, floating candles, wands, some more neat stuff. Only drawback is I can't link you directly to it from here; it's a freebie on DSP and you can't see the freebies there unless you are logged in. So, I'm going to link you to a VIEW of part of my own stuff that's in the massive kit, and once you are there, you can easily join to become a member, it's free. I promise I'm not trying to plug the place for this challenge, really I'm not. But you'll want this set of goods for your digital scrapping arsenal. And if you end up enjoying digital scrapping then that'll be the best place for you to show off your work anyway. There. THAT's a plug.
Okay, go
here
and you will see just a FEW of the elements I made for that kit. It's really old stuff of mine and I do better now, but I can't sell copyrighted images, so those are still in the freebie pile. To the side you can see the Slytherin bits and some Gryffindor papers, too, those are also included in the download, along with loads of other great stuff.
Now, join the site
here, (and you'll get an email for another free download you may like as well). Then, once you are logged in, you can go
HERE and download the massive goods. There are also a lot of other freebies there in the freebie gallery. I know some of you have already pillaged there, lol.
Please ask any questions in this thread! Show off your finished work here too, and comment on others all in the same thread. I'll go through and find all the images to include in the poll, so we can have a winner or two. Prizes to be announced.
Birthday challenge closes on August 31 for winners, but you may continue to post your Potter layouts afterwards! Also join us in the
Table Scraps Thread!
And we have us a blinkie - add it to your signature if you like!
MAG UPDATE:
FOR YOUR CLARIFICATION...
This challenge is not just about scrapping HP/Immy meets and book release parties like most people seem to be dead set on thinking. It is about scrapping anything HP or Immeritus. And you don't have to even have photos to scrapbook.
Read here for my answer to someone's plight of not having any Immy meets or book party photos.
