Post subject: A positive thought?

Before I get to that positive another thought... I was terribly upset after reading Harry's dream about Sirius. The idea of him dying horribly, painfully and alone made me ache. So much so that when he did die I was almost... relieved? Perhaps not relieved but more able to accept it. When it finally did come he was surrounded by friends - people he loved and who loved him. And he was finally able to join the fight and actively participate in the Order. And last, he was helping to save Harry, which was more important to him than almost anything.
Now that positive thought. Try to think of it this way... think about how happy Sirius must be now to be reunited with his best friend - James.

What a nice way to put things into perspective... maybe we're all just being selfish about this whole thing, though my heart still crumbles at the thought of him being gone. He probably ishappier now that he's left his life of misery and tragedy behind and gone to be with James if he is dead.
I was also just rereading the part with Lupin trying to hold Harry back, when he said "he can't come back because he's d---" or something along those lines, but I remember Lupin distinctly not finishing his sentence. I'm probably just nit picking and trying to find any excuse for Sirius to come back, but a girl can hope can't she? <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START --><img src=http://pages.prodigy.net/siriusblack/boards/smilies/ponder.gif ALT=":?]<!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> ~*~ I'm away on the stars layin' with my Sirius in the Elysian Fields where the grass grows greener than the brightest limes. I think Lupin's turn is coming up, not to be mean or anything. It just seems, logically, the Marauders are dying one by one. Also note that Voldemort gave Peter a hand made out of silver, and what are werewolves allergic to? Silver. If Lupin went after Peter he would more than likely meet end. And then Peter will probably die too, as I don't think J.K. would let the poor thing live after killing Lupin, which would result in all the Marauders being dead.
There are *FOUR* Marauders, after all.

Die Lupin! Die!
Ok, now that I got that out of my system and made your heart stop...
I just feel that the Lupinites should have to suffer like us. I like Lupin, but he pales in comparison to Sirius Black.
I'm just bitter.

No! Lupin must NOT die, or I shall explode in a burst of fire! My two favorite characters...Sirius and Remus...one's already dead, and if the other goes...NO!
Another good thought about his death was that he died laughing...
'Harry saw Sirius duck Bellatrix's juet of red light: He was laughing at her. "Come on, you can do better than that!" he yelled, his voice echoing around the cavernous room.'
Also, it sounded relatively quick, even though Harry said that it seemed to take an age for him to fall. It probably only took a little while...a few seconds, really.
Also, what kind of spell killed him...I thought Avada Kedavra made green light, but Sirius was killed by red light...since Avada Kedavra is the killing curse, it's probably the only one, meaning the curse Bellatrix used only knocked him backwards...did he die from the fall? Or is it something about the veil?

Personally, I don't think the fall alone could kill Sirius... come on, I doubt he would even have a bruise; he'd just get up and "shake his dark hair back and be eager to re-enter the battle"... All I want to know is what's behind the stinking veil!?

I doubt all the Marauders will be killed off...Pettigrew will get some kind of comeuppance, it'd be unsatisfying if something didn't happen to him. Maybe he'll repent and sacrifice himself. That'd be interesting.
I was worried to death (almost) that Remus was going to kick the bucket in this book. Peter's hand did worry me Peter (!), I was certain he'd be back and strangling Remus before you could say "Rentokill". Didn't stop me weeping over Sirius, though.
Nah, Lupin'll live. He's Harry's link to the past - Dumbledore's there for the big speeches, Remus'll become Harry's main source of advice and emotional support. Just you watch.

Finally! A happy thought in these boards of grieving!
I could not agree more. Things could have been so much worse. His death was mysterious, we're not even sure if he IS dead, so don't you think that's better than seeing him have his head hacked off, or something very final like that? I, for one, am very glad that JKR gave us some hope.
Keep on the sunny side, folks!
I'm crazy. You should never hit a crazy person.

You're so happy. Always happy. Don't get your happy on my sarcasm, I just washed it
I dunno, it's pretty cruel of her to leave it hanging so that she can hack our hopes to pieces in the next book. But she already said he was dead... I suppose there are worse deaths, no suffering at least...

I agree that Sirius is probably happy about being back with James (assuming he is in fact dead), but I also think he'd feel bad for going and getting himself killed since he can no longer be there for Harry (at least not that we know of yet).
I also like that the death was somewhat mysterious -- gives us something to look forward to hearing more about in the next book (even if it isn't necessarily good). It'll be intertesting to see what JKR does with it.
