Hm, I usually maul things when I say them, but I'll give it a shot. The way I would pronounce it is like regular, except... reg-you-luss
There are *FOUR* Marauders, after all.

When I read OotP, in my head, I pronounced it just as Peter said. But then I remembered that JK used to teach French and the French pronunciation is with the *g* sounding like a *j*, like rej-yoo-lus. So I suppose it is possible for his name to be pronounced that way too.
By the way, in French, there are many definitions for the adjective regulier(e), and one of them is lawful. Kind of ironic when you know that this guy was a Death Eater.

Sorry for coming across all Hermione-ish (Ms know-it-all), but in French, "g" is only pronounced "j" when it is followed by "i" or "e". Followed by "a", "o" or "u", it is pronounced like our "g" in "game".

Well I can tell you for a fact, that my name is pronounced 'Reg - yoo - lus' just as it looks. Your sister is right, twelvegrimmauldplace, and you are wrong.

Since nobody´s mentioned it yet, just thought you would like to know REGULUS is a star. It´s the brightest one of the LEO (lion) constellation, but overall it´s pretty small, not the second brightest star (TO SIRIUS) or anything. No idea how you should pronounce it in English, sorry (we spaniards don´t have this dilemma, hehehe). And it definitely has nothing to do with French.
Looks like Sirius´ parents loved Astrology a bit too much
LOL

Yay, Leo!!! *is a leo*
Sorry, that has nothing to do really to do with pronunciation, but I just had to add that in :DD
On with the pronunciation!

Having been inspired by hp to learn latin, i have borrowed "teach yourself latin" from the library.
(needless to say i haven't taught myself anything except how to be very confused)
:deal
anyway, latin did not have a soft g sound (as in gesture or genes), and "g" in latin was always a hard g (as in game or go)
ergo...Regulus would be pronounced Reg (as in in regular)-yoo-lus
and i agree, the blacks really did get a little carried away with the astrology thing.

Hey, I happen to like their astronomy obsession, probably the only good thing about their whole foul family (besides Sirius, of course.) Wouldn't it be cool to look at the sky and find your star? The one you were named after? If I ever kids I am so giving them all stars for middle names, and then showing them where their stars are.
Okay, back to the topic. I pronounce it like poorsirius does, reg-you-lus, but that's probably a sign that that's not how you pronounce it, since my pronunciation is always wrong in these books:p

I've always read it as Reg-yoo-lus too.

Reg-oo-lus is how I've always said it. I agree with Kokiri85, the astronomy thing is so cool, I wish I was named after a star *glares at parent*
