Yes you read it right!

Basically we have seen or found out about, especially during OotP, several versions of Sirius such as:

a) Mini Sirius (childhood)

b) Schoolboy Sirius

c) Home leaving Sirius

d) Adult Sirius (pre-Azkaban)

e) Post Azkaban Sirius

Now to play it safe we can all agree that our tragic hero is missing presumed dead, yet we can all be sure that he will appear in the next two books.
So ladies and gents which do you want to see more of?

Ziggy

Let's see:

Mini-Sirius strikes me as a bit dull. Kids are kids, and Sirius was probably cute, but not that exciting, compared to other times in his life.

Hogwarts Sirius: Could be fun, but I think we've seen all we're going to see of that Sirius. I like reading it in fanfic, but I don't have a lot of unanswered questions about this time. Except why he and Snape hated each other SO badly. (I don't even think the prank was as big a deal between Sirius and friends as most of fanfic makes it out to be.)

Leaving Home Sirius: I don't want her to do anything with this one unless it matches DTF Wink Seriously though, again, I think she's told us all she's going to.

Adult Sirius, Pre-Azkaban: YES!!!!!! GIMME GIMME GIMME! What did he do for a living? (that's my #1 question.) Why did he suspect Remus? What the heck was going on during this time frame!

Post Azkaban Sirius: I hate to say it, but I think he's dead and I will be most annoyed if he's not. Not that I don't love Sirius. I do. But for all that people have called it sloppy writing, I don't think it was. People die when their lives are unfullfilled and they should have had better, and I think JKR was RIGHT to show that. It SUCKED, but it was accurate.

So give me the pre-Azkaban Sirius. (Coinicidentally, also the hottest Sirius.)

I voted for pre-Azkaban adult Sirius, too. We know so little about Sirius after he graduated from Hogwarts. What we know is that he was in the first Order, he was best man at the Potter's wedding, and he was made Harry's godfather, but that's all.

I'd really like to learn more about his time in the order. How did he feel about it? Was he proud to be fighting against Voldemort? Was he afraid? Was he worried that his friends could die? Did he think they would be the ones to destroy you-know-who? How was he different to the post-Azkaban Sirius we know? Was he still as arrogant as in the Pensieve scene? Why did they think Remus was the spy and not Peter? etc. etc.

I'd also like to know more about his relationship to Lily. Were the very close? I doubt it. He never talks much about her with Harry. Was he jealous? Did he think she would take James away from him? Did he approve of their marriage?

And what did he do to protect Harry? Did he take any precautions in case he died in the war?

So many unanswered questions. *sigh*

Of course it would also be interesting to know more about his childhood and his relationship to his parents before he ran away from home, but I'd prefer to learn more about adult Sirius.

Now that I've read DTF, I think that I don't need any further information on his childhood. Wink

I voted for Pre-Azkaban Sirius. Let's see:

- [color=maroon]Mini-Sirius:
I wouldn't mind reading a bit more about him and the Black family, to find out what aspect of his family life drove him away from home, but I could also do without this knowledge.

- Schoolboy Sirius: would be fun to read about, but what's there to say, really, we know the main parts already and the rest of his life in school seems to revolve around detentions and pranks.

- Post home-leaving Sirius: I agree with Lissa, I think JK's already said all she's going to.

- Adult Sirius (Pre-Azkaban): bigtime yes yes! How was his home like? Was there a prospective Mrs. Black? Was he an Auror? Ack, so many questions.

- Post Azkaban Sirius: I think we saw enough of him. He was mostly miserable (see OotP), alone and he had to hide away in order to stay away from prison. I'd rather have him die and go on living in other's memories than come back to that. He did his part, he died a fighter's death, and it should be left that way.

Actually, I wanted to vote for them all because I can't get enough information. You know when you have that great date where you stay up all night talking about everything? I want to hear everything!! How bad was his childhood? Did he and his brother care about each other at all? What did he do for a living after school? Did he play Quidditch? Was he really a dog of a ladies man, or just kind of finicky?

I ended up voting for Post Azkaban Sirius, even though I know that is futile. I just wish he had a chance to live more as he wanted to--to take care of Harry and enjoy him as the son/friend he misses so much.

I voted post-Az for the same reason AccioSirius did but also because pre-Az Sirius isn't the same as the Sirius I know and love, besides he could just tell all about everything he's been through. I'd be happier with that, even if he was miserable I want him to at least have the chance of having a semi-normal/happy life. The first war was bound to be depressing and dangerous and he couldn't trust anyone much so I don't think he was very happy back then either. <img src=http://pages.prodigy.net/siriusblack/boards/smilies/iiworry.gif ALT=":worry]

My ideal Harry Potter man

Sirius Black

Fervent, impulsive and a terrible enemy, he would do anything to keep his loved ones safe. He's a man of constant sorrow, with eyes full of pain and regret from causing his best friend's death. And he's yours for life.

It's hard to chose. But I would take the most recent version because he is the sum of all his experiences. And I don't want him to be gone forever! Thinking toward his childhood, much as I would love to have known exactly what kind of a little problem child he was (and I mean that in a most humorous way, filled with love) I think that it was his schooling at Hogwarts and his experience with the original Order of the Phoenix that was the foundation for many of the qualities that people love about Sirius. His time in prison hurt him, no doubt, but he needed to be out in the world fighting for what he believed in. If Sirius could find a way to do so from the other side of the veil, I think he would continue the fight in his own way.

So, I suppose at the end of the day, I want to see as much of Sirius as possible in any way, shape or form. And yes, Ms. Rowling, wherever you are - I do realize that the series is named after Harry Potter, however, I find Sirius to be infinitely more interesting and desirable! More Sirius please, much more Sirius , even in the bloody pensieve - I need a fix!!!

I want to see more of the leaving home Sirius, though the time frame is most likely to short to contain much, I thought it showed incredible character on Sirius' part to hightail it out of there at age (16)?

After that I'd like a Wizard War I story. One told as a type of memoir. I think that would be awesome. I most definitely want to see God-father Sirius, because he must have been one heck of a good one.

Wow I've just checked the scores and so far Pre-Azkaban Sirius is just in the lead, followed closely by our Sirius (out of Azkaban).

I had a feeling what be the most popular choice for a few reasons that you guys have mentioned:

Quote::
Adult Sirius, Pre-Azkaban: YES!!!!!! GIMME GIMME GIMME! What did he do for a living? (that's my #1 question.) Why did he suspect Remus? What the heck was going on during this time frame! ~Lissa

and:

Quote::
- Adult Sirius (Pre-Azkaban): bigtime yes yes! How was his home like? Was there a prospective Mrs. Black? Was he an Auror? Ack, so many questions. ~ Miru

It's true there are many unanswered questions, lets hope JK does a few flashback moments so we can learn a bit more...

I was actually quite surprised at post-Az (sorry my hand is beginning to ache!) Sirius coming second but again you guys have given some excellent reasons:

Quote::
It's hard to chose. But I would take the most recent version because he is the sum of all his experiences. And I don't want him to be gone forever! ~ Soli

and:

Woot to you folks! Clap!

Well, I'd probably say post-leaving-home Sirius. That is when I imagine him to be at his most rebellious, plotting things with James and generally being the handsome rebel we all know and love. I've read a fair few Marauder fanfics, and very few even compare with the Sirius I imagine. I'd love to hear JK's view of how Sirius behaved after leaving home - after all, she is his creator, she would know more about the subject than anyone. I imagine Sirius would be even more determined to rebel against the people who had tried to hold him back before, who had made his life a misery. This would have shown up in his plotting with James and the Marauders. I'd love to see how he behaved at school, too - we only saw that tiny flashback, and so many people have judged the Marauders based on this. I'd like to see if they really were like that all the time.

This is closely followed by pre-Azkaban Sirius. What did he do for a living? Was he as close with James since he married Lily? How did he and Remus seemingly drift apart? Were their friendships still the same since leaving school? It would be interesting to compare pre-Azkaban Sirius with post-Azkaban Sirius, and see just how much he changed during his 12 year imprisonment. It would be so nice to see him, James, Peter and Remus all together, before the war tore them all apart.

Mini Sirius would be quite nice, but I'm not as interested to see (probably because he'd be a child and for me to be still attracted to him would be severely wrong). I think he'd be like any other kid - running riot round the house, wreaking havoc, blaming it on his brother, sibling rivalry all over the place, etc. I'm more interested to see what his family life was like than what he was like as a child - were his parents strict with him at an early age? Was Regulus their favourite to begin with? What went so wrong, to cause Sirius to run away from home?

Schoolboy Sirius...it depends on what age. If you're talking the Marauders at the peak of their prank-pulling years, then maybe. If you're talking Sirius just starting Hogwarts, then I'm not as interested as say for pre-Azkaban Sirius. I imagine he was a bit like Harry and Ron, in the sense of being always late and having run-ins with the teachers, etc. I think he would either have been nervous about starting school, or fairly cocky about it, thinking it would be no problem at all. I wonder if he'd ever heard of James before he started? Did Bellatrix or Narcissa go to Hogwarts?

Post Azkaban Sirius I think we've seen enough of. After all, we've been following him ever since he escaped, mostly, and it doesn't make for cheerful reading. I'd rather see him living his life to the full before he was imprisoned than see him depressed afterwards.

Wow Jas I have to agree whole-heartedly with your post. I also chose post leaving-home Sirius because I would love to fill the gap between the Marauder and post Azkaban Sirius.

The fact that he left home illustrates both his rebellious nature and also a rejection of his homelife environment. He said himself that he was an arrogant little berk in his younger years but beyond the teenage prankster it would be wonderful to delve into the turning points in Sirius's past (possibly via the pensieve or through a whole set of dedicated books) - to really begin to understand him as a family member and a friend, a student and a rebel.

The more details JK can share with us about his post leaving-home period the better we can understand the reasoning or passion driving his actions and reactions (eg the Snape incident).

Sirius as a child would be interesting for the clearer picture of his family environment it would provide. Certainly we would discover more about his relationship with Regulus and possibly Narcissa and that in itself would be worth a few anecdotes. But if we're talking a kid there's not much it would really reveal about the Sirius we know and love.

Schoolboy Sirius seems to run into Post leaving-home Sirius as he left at 16 so he would have still been at Hogwarts. I thus assume schoolboy refers to prior to leaving home. Certainly it would be nice to know more about the young marauder and how he was in school but unlike Harry he knew all about the wizarding world before going so we wouldn't "discover" new things with him - they would simply be acknowledged (leaning on Durkheim's views on novelty) if even mentioned. This would be a crucial time to understand the boy before he decides to leave home and the circumstances that push him towards his decision. Finally it would be great to see how the Marauders formed - did they know each other prior to Hogwarts (or did the group form as did the Harry, Ron and Hermione Trio) and how did Lily get caught up with them?

Pre-Azkaban Sirius for me runs on from the post-leaving home Sirius so naturally it's definitely second on my list of Accio Info. In my mind this period represents the post Hogwarts, fighting the death eaters, James and Lily get married years. Finding out what Sirius did "professionally" and personally after Hogwarts would sew up a lot of loose ends. Did he ever have a steady love interest? Did he have a career in mind before all hell broke loose? Did he communicate with his family? What was life like with James? Where did he go after the wedding?

Post-Azkaban Sirius - well it would be interesting to know where he went with Buckbeak and what he was up to. It would be nice to know why Dumbledore wanted him to stay locked away at 12 Grimmauld Place when in PoA he was able to foil the Ministry and the Dementors. Of course *hopes* more details about the veil and *hopes* what can be done to bring Sirius back... well maybe we'll get at least some more information in HBP *hopes*.

Like everyone on this site I would take any and all information on Sirius so as to better define his character in my own mind. He remains a tragic character - more details would help us understand and appreciate him that much more.

I voted for Pre-Azkaban mainly because this seems to be where everything of most importance happens in his life. Such as being in the Order, becoming a godfather and being framed for killing the Potters.

As far as post-Azkaban. I think we have read it all, unfortunately. I truly feel that Sirius is dead.

Some flashbacks have got to be in store for us, though. Maybe, JKR will elaborate more on Sirius' bike and the circumstances of passing it on to Hagrid. Also, more on Sirius' relationship with Harry, James and Lily.

Harry is so interested in his father during his years at Hogwarts that we are sure to hear more of Sirius then as well.

Hm...I voted for Mini Sirius mostly because we know virtually nothing about him. We got tantalizing hints about it in the 5th book, but I would really like to know more. We know that he had an annoying (understatement) family, and it could be interesting to see how this affected him. What happened in his childhood ultimately affected the rest of his life. I guess, then, I'd also like to see more about Schoolboy Sirius, and how his childhood affected him in school. The clip of the Marauders we saw in the 5th book was sort of creepy, and seeing more of his childhood could help understand why he was so rowdy in school. Seeing more of schoolboy Snape would be interesting too (but that's not what this topic is about!). In my opinion, we already know a good amount about Post Azkaban Sirius, so I don't feel much of a need to learn more. Do we know very much about Sirius when he left home? I nothing comes to mind, so Home leaving Sirius would be interesting as well... in fact, anything J.K. can tell us about him would be good! Come on JK Rowling! We need information! Woot!

Well, "Accio Padfoot" joined in with "Accio Sirius" (welcome, *shakes paws*) to vote for Post Azkaban Sirius. Because, (sorry, Liss) I'm not convinced. If I get my choice, I think he still has the potential to be part of Harry's life.

If not, I'll accept it. Second choice is school - because those were happy times and should be entertaining.

Pardon me, I don't mean to be spammypants...

If I could, I would have voted for Naked Sirius...ROFLMAO.

But seriously...I would like to see PRE AZ Sirius. I'd like to see him in the original order, fighting along side James, Lily, Remus, etc. In fact, I'd like to see a whole lot more of the history of the wizarding world during the first battle between good and evil. I'd also like to see the history of the death eaters that JK has supposedly pinned but will never release.

I'd like to see Sirius from his last year at Hogwarts to the Year he was arrested. It would be fascinating....oh and naked of course...;)
