Hey, nice to see you around! Actually, if you want to talk about movies, there's a forum just below this called The Cinema (moderated by me... no I'm not plugging! Hush! ) that's the perfect place to talk about movies (any movie, not just HP), movie awards, and actors. Just a heads up.

It's not a big deal, it's not like you made a new topic here, so I would allow it if you just copied most of your post over and made a new topic, maybe leaving it open a bit for conversation. I don't have a problem with you doing that.

Hello!
I'm a bit new here, and I thought a list of my favorite books would be a good starting post.
I like Harry Potter (which is why I'm here to begin with...).
I also am currently hooked on the Discworld books, the Watch volumes being my favorite.
I love the Scarlet Pimpernel and have also read a number of the sequels-"I Will Repay" and "Child of the Revolution" are my two favorites, although the Pimpernel himself is largely unseen in both.
I like history, and right now I'm reading "The Whirlwind of War" by Stephen B. Oates (does non-fiction count?)
Also, I don't know if anyone has read the Flambards series. By K.M. Peyton? They're about a girl living in England (starting in 1908?) who is an orphan and goes to live with her Uncle and two male cousins. One (Mark) who is a rake and a horse/hunting lover, and the younger brother (William) who is obsessed with Airplanes and does not get on well with the rest of his family. All four are very well written.
I like Jane Eyre and thought the Musical wasn't too bad... (I'm a musical buff ^_^) And I like Charles Dickens and Jane Austen. I read Biology and nature books for fun and I collect Children's picture books as well as fashion (historical and modern) and art books.
I'm basically obsessed with books and have five book cases full.
I hope to make myself at home here! Cheers!

-laughs- Oh, God. I thought you meant horse hunter, not horse/hunter. -wipes away tear- Ah, horses. So ugly, so useful. In fact, they remind me of...well, almost everything. Anyway, that was much fun, thank you. (humour me, please)
Anyway, I haven't heard of the Flambards series, sorry. I'll watch out for it, and tell you once I devour it whole whether or not I threw up.
You can speak of any novel(s) here, not just fiction. I'm sure you'll fit in just fine; good luck with the other members. Although in my absence, I'm probably too late anyway. Ah, but it's the thought that counts.

::re-reads post:: Oh My GOD, it does look like horse hunter... Glad to amuse, it does sound funny/weird...
Well, I haven't been here very long, but everyone is nice so far... you're all actually a rather kind group compared to some, who had nothing but negative replies to make to my posts...not exactly mean...just negative. Kind of a downer...

Ah well, I'm sorry to hear that. Whenever you encounter someone 'mean' here, simply call my name and I shall see to it that there is butt-kicking galore. And if that mean person just happens to be me (and that would be quite rare, mind you, no matter what anybody says) don't take my words seriously.
Really. I laugh at people who do. Isn't that right, Mag? -ImaginaryMag nods- See? Offended people are my biggest treat. Especially when I'm the source of their agitation.

Haha HRB, you remind me of the song "I'll be there"; you know, by Michael Jackson (the little one).
"just call my naaaaame, and I'll be there..." hehe, it makes me want to light a candle and sway

-twitch- I'm trying to be nice. Michael Jackson comments will not make this a very common occurence.
Anyway, it's standard welcome code. Not that I use it with everyone...but only those that seem to merit a warm word or two. Besides -grin-. Alexa liked my picture.
(And the truth comes out! HRB's sudden kindness has motive!)

::laughs:: Well thank you for the motive driven welcome! I really do like your Sirius drawing, I went to your site hoping for more and was disappointed to see none, perhaps over the summer you'll add a few more pictures (of original art even!)
Like I said everyone here has been kind, so you probably won't have to kick anyone's arse
Michael Jackson gives me nightmares....

I am cracking up over here over the HRB/Jackson song. Never would have thought that one would conjure up images of the other. Too funny. As for her motive driven welcome, let me tell you a secret: <span style="color:#dbe2e8;font-size:xx-small;]she grins like a madwoman when she sees your comment on her Sirius, Alexa.[/color] Pretty funny.

-glares at Mag- Yes, hilarious.
I'll be adding some soon, Alexa. Do you mind slash? I hope not, for three coming up are of such quality. Another thing is, well, I draw Black and any other character in many different ways. It's not that I can't repeat a certain look over and over again, because in some cases I do, it's that I have yet to find my perfectly comfortable niche. Tweaking my style every other minute is the best I can do to keep active; Siri assures me it's a good thing, and I'm hoping it's true.
In other words, the 'Site Siri' should make other appearances later on, although I'll certainly make others.
At the moment, I have two things in 'Original'. -squirms- They're not fantastic, both real media, and really, they're opposite of style in comparison to the layout drawing. Look at them anyway, if you wish (and review!). There will be much better stuff up there soon, I promise.
And let's leave Jackson here, shall we? Especially you, Ms. E. -shiver

I am not a big slash person no, but I don't cringe when I look at it (I have actually read some ::gasp:: and I hear that Interview With A/The (?) Vampire is like that? I'd still like to read the books though...::p onders::) and I like your art, so I don't care... I'll be happy to review the original art too
aLeXa
PS You drew your site's layout pic? That's great! I love gargoyles...have you ever seen Michael Parkes' work? His "Gargoyle" painting is beautiful...
