How do the ranks work? Well, first off, ranks are based on post count. The more you post, the higher your rank. These update automatically when you reach the next level, unless you posess a custom title. If you do, we have to update your rank manually, and since we can't keep track of everyone's progress, you just notify us of the need for your next promotion.

The admins at this time are Mag, Siri, Loreliah, and Aoife.

Moderators are appointed by officers, and the last time, we did so by holding an open application. Please do not ask to be a mod if you have not been approached with the offer or if we have not announced staff openings.

When the boards were first started, the rank gaps were ridiculously high, so they were lowered. Now, with the rush of people, they are being raised again, so rank is something special to achieve, not by means of spamming. Be proud if you change ranks by honest means. Remember, we reserve the right to change rank levels at any time.

Order of Merlin Classes were added upon transfer of the boards. This was a great suggestion by fortheloveofsirius. When I get a chance, I may make new paws for them, but we'll see.

Just added Feb, 6, 2006: The rank of "Officer, Ret" has been added for times when an officer has stepped down. We hope that you continue to give them your respect. The new rank is simply a way for you to know that this person is no longer expected to regularly host events or to answer pm's and emails because they don't have the time to commit to that. It is a sign of how long we have been online, so although it is with some sadness that we do this, realize that it doesn't mean goodbye, and that this means we've crossed another bridge. We're almost five guys!

Don't want to be annoying, but why do the rank changes not apply to everyone?

Club members have to be updated manually once they receive a custom title. Because of this, we decided that members in this situation will be allowed to keep their current ranks up until they have posted enough to move up to the next level on the new system.



Call it a member perk at the time of the switch (at least for those that chose a custom title).

How can my rank be 1st year one post, then muggle the next have i being flunked?

We just told you. Ranks have been changed, so everyone is adjusted down. Look at the above ranks and match them to your post count.

I understand that ranks are sometimes not automatically updated. However, with the new requirements my rank seems to have vanished completely. Is this part of the same glich in the system?

Mmm, no, that's an ezboard glitch. We've been waiting for them to change it, but no such luck.



PM me when you get 20 posts and I'll manually do your rank. If it doesn't fix itself, I'd suggest applying at 20 and making it in to get a custom title so that you can get it manually updated from then on.

How come there are people with like 60 posts not 100 but they are 2nd years???

They have custom titles and those with custom titles have to have theirs changed manually. We decided to let their ranks sit until it came time for it to change instead of changing all of them by hand.

Is there a glitch somewhere that affects the total number of posts listed on the left under my name? Yesterday I had 14 posts, and today AFTER posting on the "other HP characters, the trio" board, I see my total as 13. Should it not be 15? Or were 2 of my posts removed for some reason? I have not been spamming, as that makes me crazy when I see it on the boards, and as a former teacher, I'm fairly confident in my writing skills. I suspect this is an ezboard problem, but I am trying to increase my rank by earning it, and this only makes it harder.

That must be some kind of glitch, yarndtu. Sounds weird to me. With a number less than 20 you can probably go back and find all yours, and see that they haven't been deleted. I doubt any mod would delete any post without a warning of some kind to the poster, not that you need any warnings. The only ones I've seen them delete are real spam from non members who only seek to taunt and wreak havoc.

Well at the time of the switch not only did I loose my custom title I lost a year too.

huh... I "lost" paws... Is it because I stayed away for some time? I couldn't find a reason anywhere for this... I was witch now I'm not...

No, we made the gap between years longer, and everyone without a custom title got effected. If you had a custom title, then the alternative is that after we made the switch, there was an ezboard glitch that reset select people's custom title, and therefore, their rank. If you had a custom title, check with me in Custom Titles and Ranks, and if not... well, what can I say? Post count wasn't effected, so it's just another bump in the road.
