Immeritus is proud to host three limited time contests to get you excited about the premier of the Goblet of Fire film. Warner Brothers has promised some great merchandise for our winners. If you have never participated in one of our contests before, this is a fantastic time to try one out!

To Prose, or not to Prose
You poets have exploded with creativity and inspiration. Write a poem in iambic pentameter from Sirius' point of view to someone during the events of Goblet of Fire.

Iambic Pentameter is the daDum daDum daDum daDum daDum rhythm of a poem or other writing. Emphasis is on the second part of the "feet". Five "feet" in all make it a pentameter. Some variation is allowed for artistic license. It can rhyme or it might not. You may write a long poem or one stanza. Just make sure it's entertaining, and mostly follows the iambic pentameter rhythm. (Blame Mag for this one, folks!)

An example (I googled this); read Iambic Pentameter for more explanation:

"Here are some lines from MacBeth that have been scanned in iambic pentameter. An accent above a syllable in a word means it is stressed. Everything has been divided into feet.

Awáy,| and móck| the tíme| with faír|est shów;

False fáce| must híde| whát the| false heárt| doth knów. "

Entries must be G rated and posted here. All entries will be voted on by our registered visitors and the top entry will win a prize.

This contest has a very quick timeline! The deadline has been extended until Friday, November, 25th. Voting will commence soon after and be closed by 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time on the 27th.

Everybody should participate in this one - this is a WARNER BROTHERS donated prize! You must be wondering what the prizes are. Well, as soon as we have everything confirmed, we will let you know. For now, let's just get started and let your muse guide you!

GodFather

All about me my world twists and turns.
Of danger this year I had feared and known.
My blood with thirst for vengeance burns!
In pain and fear is my Godson – my own!

A boy courageous beyond all compare –
Ensnared within a plot, a deadly plan,
Into the face of death himself did stare.
Once a child, but all too soon a man.

His friend – murdered – without a hesitation!
And to witness Voldemort rise again!
Tied up – alone! He suffered violation,
Of both the physical and mental pain!

Such strength and fortitude in one so young!
Upon his shoulders the cruel hands of fate…
But even though from him all hope was wrung,
Within the claws of death he did not wait!

From the brutal Death Eaters he fled –
Priori Incantatem! Aid from another…
Phantom visions of a past long dead –
Sweetest Mother, loyal Father – my ‘Brother’!

Despair and longing fills my aching heart!
Even in death my friends protect their son!
Within his soul they are always a part,
The boy forced so young to be “The One”.

Poor youth – to see such things with your own eyes!
Hated Demon! You, I cannot forgive!
Harry – listen – from my lips are no lies,
I will protect you as long as I live!

But now at this moment we are parted –
At the request I run to find my friend,
The Order must be told the war has started –

What words can accuarately convey truth
About how concerned I am for the boy.
Evil does lurk around every corner
And I know not the bearer of this ploy.
Remus, a horrid end is coming near
And I can't Harry's enemies destroy.

First his name came out of that wretched cup;
Then he had a fierce, foul dragon to face.
A friend to rescue out of Hogwart's lake
When moral fibre made him take last place.
Now he's been learning many charms and spells
For a maze I can't see into to face.

Oh Prongs, my soul aches to see you again;
Responsible for your premature death.
May my salvation with Harry begin,
I pledge protection with my every breath.

To gaze on his face, I see you once more;
He’s courageous, with friends true and loyal;
No one argues your son’s heart: GRYFFINDOR!
My grievous mistake his childhood did spoil.

Your noble son is already a man,
Facing such evils as no one should bear.
He stands and fights battles no other can;
I curse daily this world: Cruel! Unfair!

Reading the signs, the Dark One grows stronger.
His unknown plan propels into motion.
Presence shan’t remain hidden much longer;
I’m prepared. Hatred fuels my devotion.

Practically useless, hidden in cave;
This careful path, I cannot continue.
It is a cowardly way to behave,
I must fight evil in active venue.

I make new my oath. For Harry I’d die.
Harry’s life: promise of future less dim.
Failed you and Lily; bitter tears I cry.
With each breath of my lungs, I’ll protect him.

Headmaster Dumbledore, send a reply.
What's this I hear of a Triwizard's cup?
Harry's entered but he did not try!
Some treachery is brewing; something's up.

I envy the excitement of these tasks
And Harry's bright and strong, he can succeed.
But foes may hide behind some friendly masks,
and in these troubled times discord can breed.

While Harry's life is threatened by these games
you cannot make me hide so far away.
I will not let him down as I did James
and as this owl flies I'm on my way.

Not Again

In some paradisiacal island I am!
Who would have ever pictured me like that!
Tropical enormous birds all arround,
now one most uncommon meets my sight.
Sharp yellow eyes and snowy-white,
my heart leaps as I recognize.
Finally after all this time!
A letter to fing comfort and light!
There's only one reason that gets me through dark
no other than my godson leads me out that path.
With a broad smile I open it up,
but it goes away as my eyes go down.
Real deep worries I read between lines
it gets even worst if I sum up more signs.
The old anger and guilt mix up one more time.
None of this would've happened if he haden`t run out.
Rage now I feel my body take
the tought of that rat my nostrils dilates.
I shant waste more time,
I'm leaving right now.
It's me who put him in the fire line.
I'll fight every foe.
I'll run out my might.
'Till a peacefull moment
toghether we'll find.
Never again his life 'll be in risk
