Oh gosh, I hadn't read your note! I'm not getting my thread emails.

I'm not sure when your package came! I just found it on the dining room table and came straight down here to the computer - my husband must have brought it in; he usually brings in the mail. If he mentioned it I didn't hear him. Anyway, if you saw my dining room table you'd understand! I need a bulldozer to find anything; in fact I think I'll go back upstairs and take a picture of it. It'll be pretty embarrassing.

I'll ask him tomorrow how long it's been here; he's asleep. I'm SO SORRY I didn't find it before now!

I didn't think too much of it taking so long; I have another correspondent in France and his letters take a long time to get to me; over a month once.

So.... All these GOODIES!!!!! They are so cool! And some of it even has an English translation so I know what I'm looking at, lol! So I've figured out the pencil sharpener, that wasn't hard, hee. And "toute la Fete" must translate to "sticky red hearts", hee, and I've correctly identified the notebook, pencils, and pens. What's the second pen in with the cartridge pen? Hey, wait, this package opens, let me see...okay, a fine point marker, that's good - what is the other end that looks like a highlighter but isn't?
Which leaves me only to inquire if the feeric gel is for one's body or one's crafts!? It's very pretty, and if it's for the skin I'll put it on my dd's arms or face for Halloween with her princess dress. (This cracks me up - the only English phrase on it says "Made in China"!)

My daughter is asleep too, this is good; it gives me time to HIDE ALL THIS FROM HER! She has a way of appropriating things for herself with a cute smile, clasped hands under her chin, and a "PLEEEEEEEZE"?

So now I have to find a hiding place higher than about four and a half feet. THANK YOU SO MUCH BOE! I'm so so sorry I didn't see this thread and go hunting for it or at least respond to you!

Edit: Well, it's not a good excuse, but putting the pink bookbag on the table tonight caused me to displace and find your package!

(Yeah, I'm embarrassed, not as much about the table as about not responding to this thread!)

Edit again: I just went back and read Boe's description of the pencils Star sent and I see I've sharpened "James" rather a lot. So am I just "using him" or was he "dull"? Either way he stays pretty sharp now; I don't like a dull pencil! He's on my desk and Sirius, Lupin, and Peter are in the drawer together; hope they're only plotting good mischief!

WOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!

Yeah! I take back all the mean things I thought about the French postal service. OK let me give you a quick heads up on the contents (well as much as I can remember):

1. "Black" fountain pen with ink cartridges
2. pack of small coloured ball point pens which are supposed to smell like fruit (maybe the pen too but I actaully think the ink is supposed to smell nice)
3. small notecard ring binder with colored notecards inside
4. pencils - arrrrgh I've forgotten what they looked like
5. sharpener - the description of this too has slipped my mind
6. sticky hearts
7. glitter make-up (for the face and body)
8. and loose glitter to make a nice mess upon opening Diabolical

Umm I can't think what else I put in there.... and Froggy said we saw so many things in all the different shops that he can't remember what we bought and what we didn't meh
Anyhoo I'm delighted that you received the package and that it wasn't tampered with.
I hope you and your little princess enjoy the bits and bobs!

PS.

it actually means "the whole party"; "sticky red hearts" would be: coeurs rouges adhésifs, hehehe.

Hey Boe, wasn't there an article in today's Beeb about the slowness of the French Postal service and possible privitisation as a result? I remember reading that the French Post is one of the worst in Europe, ergo, no need to retract your statements.

Um, yes.

Randomly yours...
