Does Grandma need a new shawl? Do you have a new baby in the family who needs clothing? Mom’s birthday is coming up and you don’t know what to get her? Searching for that special gift for the person who has everything? We have the answer! Why not give the gift of a hand crafted item made by one of Immy’s crafty members? Shop here for your quality, one-of-a-kind items that will surely be appreciated by anyone with good taste.
Why purchase through Immy and not from your local craft store or through a neighbour who can do the same thing? Because the “profit” from these items goes directly into Immy’s Gringott Vault that’s why! Donate to Immy and get a gift at the same time! Who could ask for anything better?
The Basic Idea:
For the purposes of this post, the Seller is the person who made and donated the item for sale.
At the moment, items for sale will be limited to knit wear, but this may change if we have enough volunteers and interest. As soon as one of our wonderful volunteers completes a project for sale, they will take a picture, or two or three and post it in this thread with the price (US dollars). The price is non-negotiable, unless you want to donate more (always acceptable). Should you want to purchase the item, PM the person who made it telling them you definitely want to purchase. This is a first come, first serve transaction, so do not make your donation until you have received confirmation from the seller that you were the first person to PM them. Once you have received confirmation, make your donation to Immy and send the seller your address. Once the seller has received confirmation of the donation, they will send the item off to you by the least expensive shipping method.
Please note that once this gets going, if the demand is large enough, the rules may change a bit in order to ensure that the sellers are reimbursed for their expenses (Shipping and materials only, e.g. yarn but not needles. All time and reusable materials, e.g. needles, will be “donated” by the seller). The item prices won’t necessarily go up, but Immy will have to forfeit a part of the donation to the seller. We may also begin to include commission orders so that people can order something tailor made, but that will be more on a one to one basis between buyer and seller with the proceeds being donated by the seller to Immy. These transactions will need to be moderator approved before anyone invests in materials or makes a donation. We want to make sure that it is fair and that things run smoothly. Should you be interested in commissioning something now, please contact a Burrow Moderator, i.e. me or Pen.
Volunteers This Way Please!! – Should you want to volunteer to make items for the Burrow Bazaar, please contact either me or Pen and we will put you on the list of volunteers. Unless you enter into a commission sale, there are no deadlines or amount of work limits involved. Feel free to donate an item once a year if that’s all you can do. We would be grateful for more, but this is a no pressure venture. Items will simply be put up for sale when they are done. Please also run any projects you would like to “sell” for Immy by us before you post it. Again, we want to ensure that the price for each item is fair and reflects the material, time and effort put into it, yet doesn’t break the bank for the buyer. One important note, if you use a pattern with a copyright, make sure you contact the designer to see if the scheme is OK with them.
Any questions? Contact either me or Pen and we will be more than happy to help!
Please help us to keep this thread orderly and sane, please put any comments, feedback or discussions about the items in the Discussion Thread. Thanks!

Our next item for sale is this Throw Blanket Knit by Pen.
This item is available
Pattern: Improvised
Quantity available: One (1)
Yarn: Lion Brand Homespun
Colorway: Mediterranean, Waterfall, Granite, Rococo, Williamsburg, Windsor, Regency
Weight: Bulky
Fiber: 100% acrylic
Washing Instructions: Machine wash on gentle cycle and dry on low heat
Needles: US 15/10.00mm
Size: 37.5 inches x 53 inches, minus tassles
Cost for this item: $40 donation
Notes from the knitter: I used up every bit of Homespun in my yarn stash, so one end of the blanket reflects the "hominess" of this. The majority of the blanket is knit in the Regency and Granite colorways, a blend of blues, green, beiges, and greys. The Granite color runs throughout the length of the blanket, and because I knit this using two strands of yarn at a time, the finished product is very dense and very warm!
