For those of us who may not be able to make it to Lumos this year or to Phoenix Rising in New Orleans in May next year there is hope (especially if you live close to Toronto).

May I present to you Prophecy 2007: From Hero to Legend

Yes that is right from the people that brought you The Witching Hour and are hosting Lumos and Phoenix, Prophecy 2007 will be the first convention held "internationally" by the organizers. It is slated to run from August 2-5 in my own backyard (metaphorically speaking of course) and I am totally excited.

So are any of you considering coming to the event? As registration hasn't even opened yet I won't ask if you're going for sure. And of course if you're thinking of going we can plan some sort of get together. (This is where I ask Saturn, lupinsangel and elmo if they'd be willing to help me plan something if a large group does come for a visit.)

I'm hoping to get the cash together to be able to go...I'm so excited because there was no way I'd have the cash to go to Lumos (not even to crash) or the time to go to Phoenix (as I'll have classes then). So what do you think?

I was wondering why it was taking so long for someone to put a thread up about this! I have never been to Canada, and this would be a great reason to go, but I highly doubt I will be able to make it. But, we'll see, it's over a year away!

Yay! I finally figured out my password so that I can reply to this! I would love to go to this convention and would be pleased to meet immy people who might be making the trek to come visit! I might be working in Hamilton next year or possibly in Toronto, but either way I'll be close enough to get to the convention. Donna, I'd love to meet up with you again, girlie!

Sounds like a lot of fun... but I'll be out of the province then.... checking out grad schools while I can. Sorry Artemis Athene!!! I'd have loved to do something with you all otherwise.

It's typical, though. I have the worst luck when it comes to timing. Seems as though all important and/or fun things happen at the same time.

Y'know, this is actually quite close to me. Or at least as close as an HP convention will probably ever come. (only about 4 hours)

Conventions really aren't my thing, but it might be nice to go if only to meet some Immy members.

Yuppers, Ife! I told Missy already that if I enjoyed Lumos, I will definitely be interested in going to this one as it's so close. But you know me....can't plan that far in advance yet.

It's only about four and a half hours away from me. And only five days after my 21st birthday! What a present!!

Hmm, Toronto is kind of far by car (~8 hours) but it will be after graduation and I'm sure I can convince my parents. And drag a few friends along...woot, I hope I can go! ^^

Dude, Toronto! Finally something I can possibly do! Well, it's like 7-8 hours of road, but at least it's doable, not like Europe or even Las Vegas, which I would have loved but, bit too far. I haven't been more west than Montreal, though... Missy, you'd have to guide! But I'm definitely keeping this in mind, for once that we have something up north.

You need a guide no problem; I might even come to pick you up if you like. To be honest I don't know Toronto all that well as I'm a Mississauga girl through and through, however I know that TO is easy to navigate. Besides we'll have Saturn with us and she is a TO girl for sure. I'm excited to see who is able to come, especially since we have a whole year to plan everything. I promise if you come to visit I'll go out of my way to ensure you see everything important besides what ever is going on at the convention...CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame, Bata Shoe museum...name it and I'll get us there.

Asked mum hare long it would take from here and she said its ONLY about 5 hours.. shoot thats how long it takes to get to my Aunts!! So its greatly do able!!!

Ya know, this is really close for me. Like, maybe an hour, hour and a halfish, if that even. We go to see plays in Toronto a lot. I might be able to convince my parents to let me go, as long as I can take my friends, most likely. Maybe. I'll have to see if they'll let me(doubtable but possible). My dad says medium chance that we'll be able to go. This is good. Hey, and we might even be able to carpool with some people. You'd just have to drive here first.

Fred can have the couch (which folds out into a bed) and you can have my room and I'll crash in my dad's room as he is away on almost every weekend anyway. Who knows we could have a few people crashing at my apartment by the time this thing rolls around...but you and Fred get beds for sure everyone else gets the hardwood floor.
