To encourage the renewing activeness on these boards, I decided to make a new topic. (I might make it a sticky, if it's popular.) I borrowed this idea from another message board, but I thought you guys might like this idea.

Hear a song that reminded you of a Harry Potter character? Post it here, telling which character it reminds you of and why. It can be any character and any song you like. I'll be posting some a little bit later.

Have fun!

I've got one! Blackbird by The Beatles. It reminds me of Sirius!

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night

Take these broken wings and learn to fly

All your life

You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night

Take these sunken eyes and learn to see

All your life

You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Blackbird fly Blackbird fly

Into the light of the dark black night..."

I think the reasoning behind this one is pretty obvious, it just sounds like the physical description of Sirius in PoA, and somewhat like what he goes through... To me, anyway. Anyone agree?

^Weird, Jane (can I call you that?) That song has always reminded me of him, as well.

And cool idea for a topic, Rob - most songs I listen to remind me of something HP one way or another, but for some reason I'm drawing a big blank right now, with one exception. The song "Little Green Bag" on the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack always reminds me of MWPP in their school days. It's just so cool and jaunty. It probably has to do with the scene in RD in which it's played...all those cool guys, walking down the street. When I first saw that, it made me wish I was a man, so I could pull of the black suit/black tie look.

Oi! I've already said this on another thread.. but "Behind Blue Eyes" by "The Who"

No one knows what it's like

To be the bad man

To be the sad man

Behind blue eyes

No one knows what it's like

To be hated

To be fated

To telling only lies

But my dreams

They aren't as empty

As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely

My love is vengeance

That's never free

No one knows what it's like

To feel these feelings

Like I do

And I blame you

No one bites back as hard

On their anger

None of my pain and woe

Can show through

But my dreams

They aren't as empty

As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely

My love is vengeance

That's never free

When my fist clenches, crack it open

Before I use it and lose my cool

When I smile, tell me some bad news

Before I laugh and act like a fool

If I swallow anything evil

Put your finger down my throat

If I shiver, please give me a blanket

Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

No one knows what it's like

To be the bad man

To be the sad man

Behind blue eyes

PS-- I love the drummer from "The Who" he goes absolutely crazy, while playing.. And if anyone has seen either CSI.. they have heard "The Who" because they sing the theme songs-- We Won't Get Fooled Again and Who Are You? -- Fitting, ne?

The song was just on the radio!!! Classic Rock is the best!!

Anywho, 'Behind Blue Eyes' reminds me both of Tom Riddle and Sirius!!! They really are alike in so many different ways!

Oh, I can't get over the recognition we're getting tonight.. WooHoo!!:DD

* One by one the Muggles steal my sanity... *

Didn't someone just do a cover of "Behind Blue Eyes"? Who was it, I wonder... I know nothing about Godsmack, and I've never heard that song, but it fits Peter really well!

Well, I have another theme song, this time for Harry himself. "Unwell" by Matchbox 20. Just fits perfectly with OotP for him, I think.

"All day staring at the ceiling

Making friends with shadows on my wall

All night hearing voices telling me

That I should get some sleep

Because tomorrow might be good for something

Hold on

Feeling like I'm headed for a breakdown

And I don't know why

[Chorus]

But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell

I know right now you can't tell

But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see

A different side of me

I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired

I know right now you don't care

But soon enough you're gonna think of me

And how I used to be...me

I'm talking to myself in public

Dodging glances on the train

And I know, I know they've all been talking about me

I can hear them whisper

And it makes me think there must be something wrong with me

Out of all the hours thinking

Somehow I've lost my mind..."

I read a fan fiction once, the Karaoke... and the writer put some interesting songs for the characters. Here, I'll put them here, mind you, they are a little changed to mix well with magical world and its singer.

1. Remus Lupin - Rise and Fall, Craig David

"Sometimes in life you feel the fight is never over

And it seems as though the writings on the wall

Werewolf, you finally made it

But once your already low picture becomes tainted

It's what they call

The rise and fall

I always said that I was gonna make it

Now it's plain for everyone to see

But this game I'm in don't take no prisoners

Just casualties

I know that everything is gonna change

Even the friends I knew before me are gone

But this nightmare is not the life I've been searching for

Started believing that I was one of the greatest

My life was never gonna be the same

Cause without the money came a different status

That's when things changed

Now I'm too concerned with all the things I own

Everyone is blinded by all the cruel things they see

I'm beginning to lose my integrity

Sometimes in life you feel the fight is never over

And it seems as though the writings on the wall

Werewolf, you finally made it

But once your already low picture becomes tainted

It's what they call

The rise and fall

I used to be a real troublemaker

Now I don't even wanna please the stupid wizards

No hunting

No chasing

No caging

And more demands

Given advices that were clearly wrong

The type that seemed to make me feel bad

But some things you may find can take over your life

Burnt all my bridges, now I've run out of places

And there's nowhere left for me to turn

Been caught in dangerous situations

I should have learned

From all those times I walked away

When I knew that it was best to stop

Is it too late to show you the shape of my soul

Sometimes in life you feel the fight is never over

And it seems as though the writings on the wall

Werewolf you finally made it

But once your already low picture becomes tainted

It's what they call

The rise and fall

Now I know

I made some serious mistakes

Think I don't care

But you don't realise what this means to me

So let me have

Just one more chance

I'm not the man I used to be

Used to be

Sometimes in life you feel the fight is never over

And it seems as though the writings on the wall

Werewolf you finally made it

But once your already low picture becomes tainted

It's what they call

The rise and fall"

2. Sirius and Harry, the long time without each other, Sirius not greeting Harry right away when he came to Grimmauld place... - Guilty

"I feel guilty

My words were empty

No signs to give you

I didn't have the time for you

You said I was careless

and you said I didn't care

I used to be there for you

And you've said I seemed so dead, that I have changed

but so have you

Guilty, guilty I feel so

Empty, empty you know how to make me feel

I put a shield upon you

I didn't mean to hurt you

I would have only burdened your mind

never meant to make you cry

You've been so tough

I can see right through you

I used to be there for you

So I won't leave, won't say goodbye

cause you have changed, but so have I

I never though that the time and the distance

between us made you so much older

You carried the world on your shoulders"

3. Ron Weasley - Go the Distance, Hercules Disney Soundtrack

"I have often dreamed

of a far-off place

Where a hero is welcome,

would be waiting for me

Where the crowds will only cheer

When they see my face

And a voice keeps saying

This is where I'm meant to be"

"I will be there someday

I can go the distance

I'll find my way

If I can be strong

I know ev'ry mile

Will be worth my while

When I go the distance

I will be right where I belong"

"Down an unknown road

To embrace my fate

Though that road may wander

It will lead me to you

And a thousand years

Would be worth the wait

It might take a lifetime

But somehow I'll see it through "

"And I won't be looking back

I can go the distance

And I'll stay on track

No I won't accept defeat

It's an uphill slope

But I won't lose hope

Till I go the distance

And my journey is complete "

"But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part

For a hero's strength is measured by his heart "

Harry after the third task, eyes wide and unseeing, his wand and Cedric's body in his arms.

"Like a shooting star

I will go the distance

I will search the world

I will face its harms

I don't care how far

I can go the distance

Till I find my hero's welcome

Waiting in your arms ... "

"I will search the world

I will face its harms

Till I find my hero's welcome

Waiting in your arms"

5. Albus Dumbledore - Ain't No Sunshine When He's Gone, Michael Jackson (Think of the time when Umbridge was the Headmistress):

"Ain't no sunshine when he's gone

It's no laughter when he's away

Ain't no sunshine when he's gone

And he's often gone too long

Anytime he goes away

Wonder this time where he's gone

Wonder if he's gone to stay

Ain't no sunshine when he's gone

And this school just ain't no home

Anytime he goes away

And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know

I know, I know, I know, I know

I know, I know, I know

I know, I know, I know, I know"

"Hey, Severus ought to leave the yound thing alone

But ain't no sunshine when he's gone,

Only darkness everyday

Ain't no sunshine when he's gone

And this school just ain't no home anytime

He goes away"

This songs always reminds of Harry when he fancied Cho. Mostly after she kissed him...It reminds me of what Harry might be thinking. That he can't believe what is happening.

(If you want to listen the song download the Dean Martin version because it is the best one.)

Ain't That A Kick In the Head

How lucky can one guy be?

I kissed her and she kissed me

Like the fella once said,

"Ain't that a kick in the head?"

The room was completely black,

I hugged her and she hugged back

Like the sailor said, quote,

"Ain't that a hole in the boat?"

My head keeps spinnin',

I go to sleep and keep grinnin'

If this is just the beginnin',

my life is gonna be bee-yoo-tee-ful

I've sunshine enough to spread,

it's just like the fella said

Tell me quick, ain't love a kick in the head?

Like the fella once said,

"Ain't that a kick in the head?"

Like the sailor said, quote,

"Ain't that a hole in the boat?"

My head keeps spinnin',

I go to sleep and keep grinnin'

If this is just the beginnin',

my life is gonna be bee-yoo-tee-ful

She's tellin' me we'll be wed,

she's picked out a king-size bed

I couldn't feel any better or I'd be sick

Tell me quick oh, ain't love a kick?

Tell me quick ain't love a kick in the head?

AC/DC- Problem Child

"I'm hot

And when I'm not

I'm cold as ice

Get out of my way

just step aside

Or pay the price

What I want I take

What I don't I break

And I don't want you

With a flick of my knife

I can change your life

There's nothing you can do

"Cause I'm a problem child

"Make my stand

No man's land

On my own

Man in blue

It's up to you

The seed is sown

What I want I stash

What I don't I smash

N' you're on my list

Dead or alive

Got a .45

N' I never miss

"Cause I'm a problem child

"Every night

Street light

I drink my booze

Some run

Some fight

I win they lose

What I need I like

What I don't I fight

N' I don't like you

So say bye bye

While your still alive

Cause your time is due

"Cause I'm a problem child"

*shrug*

Ooh, great thread!

Two theme songs for Sirius are "I Wonder" and "James Dean". "I wonder" because there are so many things I'd still like to know about this character, and also lines like "the love you can't find", "your friends that are not", and "will this hatred ever end". "James Dean", although Sirius was more of a rebel with a cause, but "too fast to live, too young to die", and a biker that took the road to eternity...

I WONDER - RODRIGUEZ

I wonder how many times you've been had

And I wonder how many plans have gone bad

I wonder how many times you had sex

I wonder do you know who'll be next

I wonder l wonder wonder I do

I wonder about the love you can't find

And I wonder about the loneliness that's mine

I wonder how much going have you got

And I wonder about your friends that are not

I wonder I wonder I wonder I do

I wonder about the tears in children's eyes

And I wonder about the soldier that dies

I wonder will this hatred ever end

I wonder and worry my friend

I wonder I wonder wonder don't you?

I wonder how many times you been had

And I wonder how many dreams have gone bad

I wonder how many times you've had sex

And I wonder do you care who'll be next

I wonder I wonder wonder I do

James Dean – The Eagles

James Dean, James Dean

I know just what you mean

James Dean, you said it all so clean

And I know my life would look allright

If I could see it on the silver screen

You were the lowdown rebel if there ever was

Even if you had no cause

James Dean, you said it all so clean

And I know my life would look all right

If I could see it on the silver screen

We'll talk about a low-down bad refrigerator,

You were just too cool for school

Sock hop, soda pop, basketball and auto shop,

The only thing that got you off was breakin' all the rules

James Dean, James Dean

So hungry and so lean

James Dean, you said it all so clean

And I know my life would look all right

If I could see it on the silver screen

Little James Dean, up on the screen

Wond'rin' who he might be

Along came a Spyder and picked up a rider

And took him down the road to eternity

James Dean, James Dean, you bought it sight unseen

You were too fast to live, too young to die, bye-bye

You were to fast to live, too young to die, bye-bye

Bye-bye, Bye-bye, Bye-bye, Bye, bye

My theme song for Harry has to be "Everybody hurts"

Everybody Hurts - REM

When your day is long

and the night,

the night is yours alone,

when you're sure you've had enough

of this life, well hang on.

Don't let yourself go,

'cause everybody cries

and everybody hurts

sometimes.

Sometimes everything is wrong.

Now it's time to sing along--

When your day is night alone, hold on

if you feel like letting go,

if you think you've had too much

of this life, well hang on.

‘cause everybody hurts.

Take comfort in your friends.

Everybody hurts.

Don't throw your hand. Oh, no.

Don't throw your hand.

If you feel like you're alone,

no, no, no, you are not alone

If you're on your own

in this life,

the days and nights are long,

when you think you've had too much

of this life to hang on.

Well, everybody hurts--

sometimes--

everybody cries.

everybody hurts, sometimes.

everybody hurts, sometimes.

So, hold on, hold on.

One thing that has interested me with the various characters in HP is not only the characterizations, motivations, and personalities that each character possesses, but also to connect them to song and verse. Speaking of what one possesses, anyone that has even a little bit of knowledge of me knows that I have a very vivid imagination to the extent that the dreams I have seem like full movies in my mind. In noticing that, I will attempt to bring out what I see and what music I might hear in regards to various characters and see what all of you think of it. Also, I will try to give explanations for what I chose and what I dreamed to hopefully make some sense of it for you.

So, let me start the beginning of my return by resurrecting this topic and perhaps show some of you how my mind can work. *smiles* And why not kick it off with a bang, yes? Then let us start with the beginning of HP itself and the penultimate character that brings about the sorrow, pain, anger, and fear . . . .

Lord Voldemort.

With respects to the Dark Lord, the music surrounding him has to be music that has to show his power and the awe around that power. The first choice that I have for him is one that I think best shows his conversion in his teens and twenties from Tom Riddle to the Dark Lord of Terror. What do I imagine here? Well, I see him away in a deep dark forest with an ancient book of magic propped up on a tree stump, learning spell after spell, incantation after incantation. Riddle practices this magic (things that Hogwarts never taught or might ever teach) on various animals and even wayward humans (for example, much later in Riddle’s life when he did something similar to Professor Quirrell). After he deems himself “ready”, Riddle returns to Hogwarts secretly, and goes down into . . . the Chamber of Secrets. He makes his slow and confident walk, noticing the various snakes and snake statues following him and looking at him. There is a large cauldron (enough to fit a tall human being in comfortably) at the top of a few steps that lead to the large dais in the main area of the Chamber. Riddle looks at the enormous statue of Slytherin and recognizes that he will serve no one and bow down to no man, except in his “honor” of being the Heir, the Servant of Slytherin (especially in doing his “noble work”). Around the large cauldron are six hooded figures in black cloaks, each a few feet away from the cauldron and at an angle to that cauldron. Perhaps it might help to imagine the cauldron inscribed by the hexagon of those figures – that is, two spread apart in front, two spread apart in back and one on each side of that cauldron. Those hooded figures whisper, “It is ready, master”. Riddle kneels forward, on all fours and a blast comes out from the cauldron. Riddle’s body goes into a massive frenzy (think of it as headbanging gone out of control) and a gigantic snake, though not the basilisk, comes into view from behind everyone. As this great force is surging through Riddle, the snake viciously bites him on his neck and Riddle crumples over. He reaches for an elegant black robe (for most his clothing is now shredded to pieces) and as he pulls himself up to a kneeling position again, he raises his arm and we see it lose skin and meat, becomes elongated, white, and sickly/bony. Riddle covers himself in this robe and carefully stands up. Those hooded figures then look at him and whisper in cautious tones, “Master . . . master”. Riddle then looks around at each of the hooded figures, who we realize are young men just like himself and are his “intimates” that began calling him a different name. Riddle then turns away from them and speaks dangerously, “You have helped your Lord well. Now you shall receive your reward . . . and make my transformation complete . . .” He bows, placing his head over the cauldron of burning liquids and then raises both arms to his sides. As he does so, at one time, the blood and the souls of those hooded figures are painfully wracked out of their bodies and flow into Riddle with him give quite a roar. He then sharply turns around and we see that his face is completely changed. That face is hairless, haughty, looking like a cross between a skull and a serpent, and his eyes are now glowing a deep red. He roars again and shouts, “Fools!” and then begins to walk back with that gigantic snake leading the way, and the basilisk coming from Slytherin’s statue. He is no longer little Tom Riddle, but has become, Lord Voldemort. Voldemort gives a most malicious, yet not loud, laugh and says (as this dream ends) . . . “No one can ever touch me, now.”

And the song that goes with this dream is from the group Disturbed and is one of their bigger hits. I have edited the song just a little for the board’s sake, and if you have heard the full version of it, I would also have you think about the interlude toward the end of this song and how it might be reflective of Riddle. I will not write it out (for the language is rather terse), but just imagine him malevolently saying (but to his father, not to his mother), “I’ll be a good boy. I’ll be a good boy. I promise.”

Disturbed – Down with the Sickness

Drowning deep in my sea of loathing

Broken your servant I kneel

(Will you give it to me?)

It seems what's left of my human side

Is slowly changing ... in me

(Will you give it to me?)

Looking at my own reflection

When suddenly it changes

Violently it changes

Oh no, There is no turning back now

You've woken up the demon ... in me

Get up, come on get down with the sickness(x3)

Open up your hate, and let it flow into me

Get up, come on get down with the sickness

You mother get up

Come on get down with the sickness

You f***** get up

Come on get down with the sickness

Madness is the gift, that has been given to me

I can see inside you, the sickness is rising

Don't try to deny what you feel

(Will you give it to me?)

It seems that all that was good has died

And is decaying in me

(Will you give it to me?)

It seems you're having some trouble

In dealing with these changes

Living with these changes

Oh no, the world is a scary place

Now that you've woken up the demon ... in me

*Chorus*

*THAT Interlude*

Ooh wah ah ah ah!

Get up, come on get down with the sickness

Get up, come on get down with the sickness

Get up, come on get down with the sickness

Open up your hate, and let it flow into me

Get up, come on get down with the sickness

You mother get up

Come on get down with the sickness

You f***** get up

Come on get down with the sickness

Mad-ness has now come over me!

The next one I have for the Dark Lord is how I have seen the way he reacts to Harry every time he has a direct confrontation with him. That is, he always seems to lecture Harry, to remind Harry of who he is, what he is about, and what he has done. Voldemort never kills or goes for the kill right away, but to me, he seems to take a perverse pleasure by being the “true teacher”, the “true instructor” of magic. He delights, then, in “teaching people a lesson” and likes telling Harry something along the lines of: “You don’t want to see it, you don’t want to own up to it, Potter . . . but in the deep darkness of your heart . . . you know that I am right.” Although Rowling does not like the way people indulge themselves by looking too much into the Star Wars movies for ideas toward HP, one moment that was very telling and reflective was the scene in OoTP in which Voldemort finally meets the “one man he ever feared”, Dumbledore. To me, Voldemort is even starting to lecture Dumbledore much the same way that Vader told Kenobi: “I am the master and you are the pupil.” Lastly, I see Voldemort saying these words of the song to Harry in the last two books in which he is almost rhetorically asking Harry, “How many more lives will it be until you will meet your destiny? How many more times shall this lesson continue until you come for me?” And, if it does indeed involve Ginny a bit at the end of the series, I could see Voldemort (like Scar from The Lion King for one of many corollaries) say with a dark grin, “Now why I do I find this all too familiar? Oh yes . . . your father and mother died just . . . like . . . this.”

This song is also from Disturbed and it is one of their other big hits that came after “Down with the Sickness”. To me, it just fits Voldemort perfectly:

I will never listen to "Who Let the Dogs Out" the same way again after reading Harry Potter.

I have a few, but my big one is Val Jean's Lament from Les Mis for Snape, when Valjean makes the conscious decision to renounce a life of crime. Sub Snape for Valjean and Dumbledore for the Bishop that helps him keep his freedom, and I think it's a pretty good match.

Valjean's Lament (from Les Mis)

What have I done, sweet Jesus what have I done?

Become a thief in the night, become a dog (ha!) on the run?

Have I fallen so far, is the hour so late

That nothing remains but the cry of my hate?

The cry in the dark that nobody hears

Here where I stand at the turning of the years.

If there's another way to go

I missed it twenty long years ago

My life was a war that could never be won

They gave me a number and murdered Valjean

When they chained me and left me for dead

Just for stealing a mouthful of bread.

But why did I allow that man

To touch my soul and teach me love?

He treated me like any other,

He gave me his trust,

He called me brother.

My life he claims for God above-

Can such things be?

For I had come to hate the world;

This world that always hated me.

Take an eye for an eye,

Turn your heart into stone,

This is all I have lived for

This is all I have known.

One word from him and I'd be back

Beneath the lash, upon the rack.

Instead he offers me my freedom-

I feel my shame inside me like a knife.

He told me that I have a soul-

How does he know?

What spirit comes to move my life?

Is there another way to go?

I am reaching, but I fall,

And the night is closing in

As I stare into the void-

Into the whirlpool of my sin.

I'll escape now from that world,

From the world of Jean Valjean

Jean Valjean is nothing now,

Another story must begin.

I have one for Harry during the beginning of OotP where he's constantly yelling at Ron and Hermione and can't control his emotions despite the careful approach Ron and Hermione took to him. Perhaps it may also apply to later in the series when he faces the decision of telling them about the prphecy, etc. I have a feeling the trio's relationship will be tested again soon. So the song is Cold by Crossfade

Looking back at me I see

That I never really got it right

I never stopped to think of you

I'm always wrapped up in

Things I cannnot win

You are the antidote that gets me by

Something strong

Like a drug that gets me high

(chorus) What I really meant to say

Is I'm sorry for the way I am

I never meant to be so cold to you

And I'm sorry about all the lies

Maybe in a different light

You could see me stand on my own again

Cause now i can see

You were the antidote that got me by

Something strong like a drug that got me high

(chorus)

I never meant to be so cold

I never really wanted you to see

The screwed up side of me that I keep

Locked inside of me so deep

It always seems to get to me

I never really wanted you to go

So many things you should have known

I guess for me theres just no hope

I never meant to be so cold

(chorus)

Umm this might prove to be pretty difficult seeing how I associate almost every song I hear with someone/something from the HP universe. But let me see what I can come up with, something that fits best. First of all, there's 'Mama Said' from Metallica. The lyrics don't match that well, but I take it like Sirius' theme song for OotP, with him back at Grimmauld and all. It's a great song.. truly great song.
[color=maroon]Metallica - Mama SaidMetallica - Fade To BlackLinkin Park - In the end

It starts with one...

One thing,

I don't know why,

It doesn't even matter how hard you try,

Keep that in mind,

I designed this rhyme,

To explain in due time,

All I know,

Time is a valuable thing,

Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings,

Watch it count down 'till the end of the day,

The clock ticks life away,

It's so unreal,

You didn't look out below,

Watch the time go right out the window,

Trying to hold on,

Didn't even know, I wasted it all,

Just to watch you go,

I kept everything inside,

And even know I tried,

It all fell apart,

What it meant to be,

Will eventually be,

A memory of a time, when ,

I tried so hard and got so far,

But in the end,

It doesn't even matter,

I had to fall,

To lose it all,

But in the end,

It doesn't even matter,

One thing, i don't know why,

It doesn't even matter how hard you try,

Keep that in mind,

I designed this rhyme,

To remind myself

How I tried so hard...

In spite the way you were mocking me,

Acting like i was part of your property,

Remembering all the times you fought with me,

I'm surprised it got so far,

Things aren't the way they were before,

You wouldn't even recognize me anymore,

Not that you knew me back then,

But it all comes back to me,

In the end...

You kept everything inside,

And even know i tried it all fell apart,

What it meant to me, will,

Eventually, be a memory of a time when,

I tried so hard and got so far,

But in the end,

It doesn't even matter,

I had to fall,

To lose it all,

But in the end,

It doesn't even matter,

I've put my trust in you,

Pushed as far as I can go,

For all this,

There's only one thing you should know,

I've put my trust in you,

Pushed as far as i can go,

For all this,

There's only one thing you should know...

I tried so hard and got so far,

But in the end,

It doesn't even matter,

I had to fall,

To lose it all,

But in the end,

It doesn't even matter
And last one, 'We are' By Ana Johnson, for the members of the Order.
We are - Ana

See the devil on the doorstep now (my oh my)

Telling everybody oh just how to live their lives

Sliding down the information highway

Buying in just like a bunch of fools

Time is ticking and we can't go back (my oh my)

What about the world today

What about the place that we call home

We've never been so many

And we've never been so alone

(Chorus)

You keep watching from your picket fence

You keep talking but it makes no sense

You say we're not responsible

But we are, we are

You wash your hands and come out clean

Fail to recognise the enemies within

You say we're not responsible

But we are, we are, we are, we are

One step forward making two steps back (my oh my)

Riding piggy on the bad boys back for life

Lining up for the grand illusion

No answers for no questions asked

Lining up for the execution

Without knowing why

(Chorus)

It's all about power then

Take control

Breaking the rule

Breaking the soul

They suck us dry till there's nothing left

My oh my, my oh my

What about the world today

What about the place that we call home

We' ve never been so many

And we've never been so alone.... so alone

(Chorus)

It's all about power then (we are)

Take control (we are)

Breaking the rule (we are, we are)

Breaking the soul (we are)

They suck us dry till there's nothing left (we are, we are)

My oh my, my oh my
EDIT: Um, oki, one more, 'Baby be brave' by The Corrs. It's a really good theme song for Hermione. 'Are you terrified to fail..?!' Yep, Hermi.

Baby be brave - The Corrs

Maybe deep down inside, you don't believe it

Your wailing wall, it isn't weeping at all

And you're not worthy of adoration

You're scared that somebody somewhere's gonna find the burst pipe

And as fast as they bow down they'll leave you behind

But baby be brave

'Cause what's the point of it all

What's the point of it all, yeah

Baby, don't blow it

Tell me what's it all for

If you're not terrified to fail

Are you terrified to fail

Way far down below you don't feel it

Yeah, everyone knows but we don't believe it

The pain of a pop star, you're breaking my heart

But baby be brave

'Cause what's the point of it all

What's the point of it all, yeah

Baby, don't blow it

Tell me what's it all for

If you're not terrified to fail

(Confide in me, tell me your story)

Are you terrified to fail

(It's your fear that makes you worthy)

I know what you're doing 'Cause

God I've been tempted You are

Drowning the special To

immortalize the rise

And what's the point of it all

But baby be brave

'Cause what's the point of it all

What's the point of it all, yeah

Baby, don't blow it

Tell me what's it all for

If you're not terrified to fail

(Confide in me, tell me your story)

Are you terrified to fail

(It's your fear that makes you worthy)

I am terrified to fail

(Confide in me, tell me your story)

Are you terrified to fail

(It's your fear that makes you worthy)
