The Escapee
The Escapee
"Sirius in his animagus form, escaping from Azkaban. Drawn in black China ink and coloured in watercolour and watercolour inks. Hope you'll like! I feel like I did a romantic eau-forte (is there an English word for this?) from the beginning to the nineteenth century. :)"

The waters look so turbulent and icy! Poor darling Padfoot.
SiriusBlacksBabe [September 18, 2005 @ 10:30 AM]
Really great portrayal of Azkaban, certainly looks a place you wouldn't want to be! You've captured the North Sea and the sky perfectly and Padfoot certainly looks waterlogged and exhausted. Really great job...Love it.

This one is a really great picture. Its just like I imagined Azkaban. So icy, cold. One of the best pictuers of Azkaban I have ever seen. And Padfoot looks so tired and exhausted. A really, really realistic picture!!!

Incredible! You are such a terrific artist. I agree with dhanala; this is just how I pictured Azkaban. Excellent work!
magicalobizuth [September 18, 2005 @ 01:32 PM]
I am very surprised that I have never seen an artist tackle this scene before! You did it more than justice, you made the piece beautiful and dynamic, cold and exciting. It is just wonderul work. Definately one of your best!

I said this before, and everyone before me did too .. this is a wonderful piece! Looking at that water gives me shivers. Great job! Your skills with watercolours are outstanding. Keep up the good work!

An 'eau-fort' in English is 'etching'. This is an interesting scene to have done, one I haven't seen before. The fortress looks amazing; very medieval looking with the turrets. The water is looks perfect, all choppy like those rough northern seas. Padfoot looks, well, exhausted. This whole image is just so forboding. I love it.
miss_tang [September 23, 2005 @ 08:14 PM]
This picture is really brilliant! I really like the tone and colour of everything It portrays Azkaban and Padfoot really well! Cheers

madame_bones [October 02, 2005 @ 03:12 AM]
This is amazing! Its so dramatic and I feel so sorry for Padfoot when I see it... Crying or Very sad
SBsLoveChild [October 03, 2005 @ 08:59 AM]
Very exciting piece! The sullen but triumphant hero emerging from the icy waters...he's done the undoable....A moment's rest before he hunts down the traitor.
xnoxx [October 03, 2005 @ 05:46 PM]
i think that is an amazing portrayal of azkaban. thats exactly what i thought of when JK described it. awesome painting Woot!
ST_Shootingstar [October 03, 2005 @ 11:07 PM]
Wow, what an excellent panting. I've never seen a piece of Padfoot escaping. You really captured the mood with your details.
Faith [November 03, 2005 @ 03:25 PM]
I really like this picture. This is exactly how i imagined Azkaban would be. I love your use of colour for the water So that it has the impression of iciness.
WinkyTeatowel [November 03, 2005 @ 10:30 PM]
Wow, that picture is just amazing. It does make me shiver. What really draws my attention though is not Azkaban, although it's brilliantly drawn, but Padfoot. The expression of the starving and half-drowned dog which has just done the impossible is very haunting. Both pityful and powerful, Padfoot triumphs over adversity.
xsiriuslyxinxluvx [November 13, 2005 @ 10:59 PM]
That is just brilliant. Padfoot looks so great, all half-drowned and skinny. Perfect characterization.
Eyeboll [December 04, 2005 @ 06:56 AM]

laughingGlass [February 21, 2006 @ 04:08 PM]
Beautifully done! I especially love how perfectly the way you drew Sirius matches how I imagined him looking when he escaped. this drawing is just so amazing!
Marauder_maniac [July 25, 2006 @ 02:40 PM]
Amazing. You can just see and feel all the pain Sirius went through in Azkaban and escaping it.
Rapunzel [September 28, 2007 @ 08:35 PM]
Wow. This is beautiful. I love the stormy sky, the raging waves and the helplessness of Snuffles. There is something nice about the way you have captured the light, and the drab colours of Azkaban. Wonderful!
siriuslyluvinsirius [November 19, 2007 @ 10:45 PM]
poor sirius... : (
NintenDog_Star [January 06, 2008 @ 02:06 AM]
Poor Padfoot! This pic looks so real! Great job!
Melpomene [May 06, 2008 @ 10:44 PM]
I've never seen this scene visualized before. its beautiful and tragic at the same time.
WeAreBob [March 14, 2009 @ 11:41 AM]
